One small step for womankind!...

Okay Zaadzsters,
Here's one concrete way for you to help change the world! Let's make breast cancer a thing of the past.
I have registered for the Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" event in Boston on September 10, 2006 in support of my aunt and my family.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation - Massachusetts Affiliate is a global catalyst in the fight against breast cancer and is credited with changing the way people think about the disease and those who survive it. The Foundation has a nearly 25-year history of patient advocacy, building awareness and raising funds for research and community outreach programs.
As part of the Race, I've created my own Personal Pledge Page to which you can make a pledge OF ANY AMOUNT! Remember that it all adds up and makes a real difference!
If you can help me reach my goal... check out the following link:

Thank you for your support and consideration!

Help

Very inspiring! Let us know how the race goes!
Thank you ~Matthew,
I was beginning to despair of anyone dropping by here at all!
My goals for this event are modest:
- on the spiritual side, to honor my family in a spirit of love and support with my participation in this event that will benefit families everywhere
- on the physical side, to finish the race and to not be last
- on the community and fundraising side to raise more money than I could do on my own.
I also hope to follow the process of doing this so that other people might get more involved in events like this, because there are events like this all over the place!
Hi Catherine,
First, let me acknowledge you for your goals - they are fantastic and absolutely inspiring! You're setting a great example for people by shifting your own internal energy. You're definitely shifting the world and those around you - whether they're aware of it or not!
Then, I wanted to let you know my experience with blogging. When the site first began, everyone was commenting on other blogs - there were a lot less people and no pods. With the growth of people and addition of pods, it's more challenging to check people's blogs every day. There's only so much time we can dedicate to Zaadz after all, and now there's more than ever to do! Personally, I've had a lot less hits on my blog over the past few months as well.
But, one thing I do is check the blogs of my friends. I may not be able to do it every day, but I try to keep up. So, my recommendation for you is to reach out and make friends. Once you are in people's friend list, they're much more likely to visit your page and see what you're up to. Also, you may want to consider talking to Matthew about a Susan G. Koman pod if that is one of your passions.
Know that you're receiving tons of supportive, loving energy by being involved in Zaadz. If people aren't engaging on the human level, we at least have the spiritual connection that's helping to drive us forward!
Sending lots of love,
Nancy
Thanks Nancy,
I appreciate the encouragement, and the value of your perspective as a more experienced Zaadster. I was feeling about as newbie as you can get, and wondering what the heck I had gotten myself into with signing up for the “Race” anyway. It is a big responsibility and a commitment that was feeling… well VERY BIG.
Well, anyway, I hope that Zaadz will evolve too so that it will be easier to find some of these “action items.”
Speaking of driving us forward….Gotta go get my sneakers on and go to the gym!
