Hurray for the riders in the Pan Mass Challenge

Today there are people riding their bicycles across Massachusetts as part of the Pan Mass Challenge, and they typically go to through my town, and right down our street on their way to Cape Cod.
The Pan Mass Challenge supports the lifesaving cancer research at Dana Farber, so it has similar goals to the Race for the Cure that I'm involved with this summer. Thankfully, it is a beautiful day, and not so hot as it has been.
Yesterday I almost ran a full 3.5 miles! I completed the distance, but walked for a few minutes. I'm up to the 3.5 miles in 39 minutes. The obstacle was mostly in my mind. I've been training to run 3 miles, and when I hit that 3 mile mark, I feel like it is time that I should stop, and I still need to go at the same level for about 5 more minutes. (I should be able to do that! Right? Remove that obstacle.... remove that obstacle...)
And today I'm also inspired by these riders and all the people they are supporting with their efforts to keep going!

Help

I'm so happy for you. That's a pretty good pace too. And a great lesson for all of our lives - that being the obstacle is usually in my mind. Here's some more inspiration -
Team Hoyt.
Thank you David!
You know, I think that some of these mental obstacles are just like soap bubbles.
They look like they are going to get in the way, but if we can just tap on them with the right positive thinking and attitude, they often disappear in a little sparkly “poof!”
We can then go about our business without further ado!
What’s funny, is that our minds seem to be equipped with these bubble wands!
Hola sitting with a real life friend at work and sharing your blog and comment and we both went — “aahhhhh that's so cool”!
So we're all actually are little zaadz wizards running around with our little wands spreading sparkly little poofs of positivity and possibility.
:-)
Ideally.
As a little follow up… I made it to running the full 3.5 miles at the gym… largely by leaving behind a trail of mental soap bubbles as I ran that last bit!
:-)
Thanks again for your support and kindness!
ShaZammm… blast from the past. Popped in to say I was thinking of you and using my magic wand to turn diffuclies around.
How's that going for you?
Blessings, David
